I got my first DRK-officers buckle with GES.GESCH and the number 2
in a double circle in 1976. There was no doubt about it, it was a fake,
as I knew from whom I got it!
The front photo you can see in the "first" Angolia, page 175. The prongs
bar should be installed at that side.......Often it is said, it is correct for the
brocade. A brocade was not mentioned in any of the official regulations,
but anyway in use (a photo is shown in my gorget-book, but one cannot
see details. The photo is also shown here of course). Angolia is wrong!

I do not like any of them with the crude markings at the reverse and
lack of detail in the front. Some I have seen are very questionable!!

You do have to be very careful with these. They are part of a new generation of fakes that are very well made. Originals should have the prong bar attached to the buckle. Someone could have removed the sleeve and prongs but the prongs were one of the ways to tell the fakes. Here is my example and it has the silver frosted finish.
