Unknown koppelschlossen

Article about: Hi - I just got these 2 buckles, but the seller was not certain exactly what they were. He stated he THOUGHT they were Forester Buckles - at least the one with the Hakenkreuz. The other one

    Unknown koppelschlossenUnknown koppelschlossen Hi - I just got these 2 buckles, but the seller was not certain exactly what they were. He stated he THOUGHT they were Forester Buckles - at least the one with the Hakenkreuz. The other one is a mystery. Any ideas? thanks

    Looks like its by the maker ROD(E)O...sorry couldnt resist its been a hard day

    The bottom buckle looks like a post war with a provincial hereldic emblem.

    Nick what a killer LOL, corny but funny As to the buckle its one of the state Police/fire buckles (I never collected any brocades)

    Both are for the state of Westfalen (Westphalia).

    The top one - with the oak leaves wreath - is indeed for a Forestry official. The bottom one - with the laurel wreath - is for a Fire Brigade officer. *) (ID as per John R. Angolia's "Belt Buckles and Brocades of the Third Reich")

    *) I am not 100 % certain whether this design was exclusive to the Fire service or perhaps also worn by Westfalian state Police/Judicial officials, though.
