Hi. Found this at a local flea market. I was rather surprised as they typically don't have much in the way of militaria. Quite sure it's the real deal. RZM with plate lifting on zinc, diamond has the proper movement. Looks like the finger guard was removed or broke off and was ground/sanded smooth. Scabbard also modified with a bayonet frog. The frog is stamped but very faded and I can just make out the 1942 date(not sure if it will show on the picture) it's my first HJ so I hope I did OK in that it is original.

As you say, it's missing the guard and the scabbard has been
altered using the upper half of a K98 bayonet frog.
    Hope it wasn't expensive.........
    Regards,

Very creative...but I want to expand on the combination...if this was possible. There seems to be marking on the back of the frog..which may shed some light on a time line..when the 2 were married together.

I like details on this stuff Regards Larry

I also solicited the Help of the Bayo guys to bring the 2 forums together on this. It is a a very interesting Combo.

Thanks again. I agree it's an interesting combo. Unfortunately the frog markings are very faded and I can't make them all out.
