max,
I know what your saying > Heidelberg hj knife blades have a slight bow to the cutting edge near the ricasso
So its not sharpening, just the way they made the blades during the period.

Great stuff, go Heidelberg! ;-)
Are they beer bottles, or milk bottles? I've seen both descriptions before.
There's nothing wrong or abnormal about a sharpened HJ knife, unless an excessive amount of metal has been removed, and worst of all unevenly.
Otherwise the knife should be razor sharp as this is very good steel!
I remember reading that Germany got the steel, or iron ore, for their better (weapons) steel from Sweden. Anyone have any insight on this facet of Third Reich edged weapons?
unsharpened my puma knife has the same blade shape.
not only Heidelberg
my two Heidelberg knives are also 100% unsharpened
