Re: Hitler Youth knife question
Items sold in Men's Magazine and imported into the US in the late 1950's might be marked 'Germany', of course this would have been a post war addition. So being marked 'Germany' does not necessarily mean it is fake. But this example has 'Germany' set with a maker's mark which is a huge red flag.

Re: Hitler Youth knife question
When it comes to Authentic TR period edged weapons,,that were solely made for the proud wearer to carry it during those political times the last thing anyone from that country wanted was an outside influence of any hint of an outsourced knife with Foreign text. A Ferrari is not the same when it has Chrysler parts in it.

It is a fake Othello is a post war maker of G.I. souvenirs.I know because I have one myself it was my first HJ I bought it for 50.00 bucks at a old antique shop and I thought I had made a killing.Somewhere on this site I posted some pictures about two years ago and the experts said it was not even worth 50.00.

Re: Hitler Youth knife question
Seeing the word germany on any TR knife would make me head for the hills, I learned that here

Re: Hitler Youth knife question
Sorry. A badly made fake from the 70's or newer. The poor quality of the fitting and manufacture is obvious and it hardly needs mentioning that "Germany" on a TR blade would hardly be even a remote possibility. It would be akin to a US Air Force Cross being made in the US, but stamped "Vereinigte Staaten"...
