Recently repainted scabbard - which is probably not that unusual - and the
retaining strap with snap has been replaced, I think. Is it just me, or is
one grip panel rivet larger than the other ?
The diamond appears to be set rather deeply. I'd like to see an extreme
close up of it as well as the maker mark on the ricasso..........

Steve.
Has been messed with much too much for $300, in my opinion...

Not at that price, it does look like a messed with piece
Thanks guys. I have been told that the name scratched into the blade is Hans Fofler or similar. Should there be a RMZ on the blade, or has it been removed by the scratches?
I see no name on the blade. If you are referring to the ricasso, there is
something there - It could have been scratched on to hide the fact
that it is a fake.........

Steve.
For another $100 you can get a really nice, very early piece at Lakesidetrader. Check out the Henkels one, that'd be my choice.
Or DDsDaggers.com :: Buy, Sell, Trade & Consign Third Reich Nazi Edged Weapons German Daggers has some reasonably priced ones as well.
I put up these links to show you a few places with nice prices, make sure you run anything past the forum though.
Best,
Eddie
Thanks guys. I checked out Lakeside earlier (always some very nice items there) and the Collectors Guild (ditto) to see what pricing/quality was like. It's like the SA daggers, Lakeside has some beautiful ones for only a little more than a beater elsewhere.
