    The thing is where do you find origional griplates for such a rare hj knife ?

    it is worth restoring as the rest of the knife is very good condition but would you restore ????

    has a character of its own now

    Nice and rare piece you got.
    I'm surprise, the grip is a plastic.
    I used to own one of those, but I think the grip was a wood.
    Anyway, it is a original earliest hj knife.
    Let me check my files for some pictures.

    Very Early Carl Eickhorn, HJ knife / dagger grave

    early Eickhorn Knifehandle ...no wood
    ... is also made of bakelite!

    Bakelite is a thermosetting plastic that is relatively immune to heat. Not in hand, could it be Celluloid? Best Regards, Fred
