I'm not much of a blade fan... but, if I were to have one it would be something like this.

An interesting one as the blade is in outstanding condition, but the wear on the brown leather pommel strap suggests it was used by a HJ boy for a period of time, thought probably not thrown at a tree. What the patina does suggest that it was put away, perhaps in an attic at end of war, where there was some damp air and the nickel plated parts oxidized. The leather pommel strap nicely protecting the plating it was covering. We could well believe there it lay undisturbed for 70 years.

Crossgrain, don't often see that on a used HJ knife. A rare find indeed Ger.
