2 dress bayonets,one was stored right other was NOT!

Two dress bayonets,long one may be a later bayonet with no maker mark.Short one is maker marked.Finish did not hold up on long one but short one is minty.Was it the bad base metal on the later one that caused this or just poor storage do you think?Both are vet bringbacks.I dont think these dress bayonets got much use if any,made just for show.

The long one (25cm blade) is a roughy, and likely to be in that state due to post war storage conditions and excessive handling. Your 20cm blade one (looks like Holler mark) is a nice example.

Hi, It's not very clear on the photo but that maker mark looks more like Horster to me?

Good catch Grofaz,its HORSTER ,had to look close at it,my other short bayonet is the Holler.
