It's an authentic KS98 bayonet, sometimes called a "parade bayonet" or "walking" out bayonet made at Solingen in mid to late 1930's. It is in good condition from what we can see. The mark on the ricasso is for E.u F. Horster, but it looks a little odd, not helped by a poor photograph. I'd like to see a clear sharp photo, as it looks etched rather than struck, but I may be wrong. Many of these were made without a maker mark.
The german Name is "Extra-Seitengewehr".
It can be translated as a extra-, proprietary-bayonet. Often called "walking out bayonet".
Nice exemple of a E&F Hörster Solingen without etchings or peculiarities.
The bumper is available is the felt in the receptacle there?
