Sometimes is better remain it in founded condition, the blueing there was on fullers still intact,same as the grips damaged but with origin wood, is no possible with now avialable chemicals made a blueing color of WW2 period, same as the grips should be from nutwood.

Looks like it has been submerged in mud or freshwater some years.

was hardly rusty especially under the wood and I think it would be a shame to leave him in such a state and further deteriorate.
