Double Dated matching E. u. F. Horster 44ASW K98 bayonet & Scabbard

Article about: Bought at auction - this K98 bayonet has matching numbers on blade and scabbard but the dates are different. Blade 43 asw and scabbard 44 asw. Blade bluing is good but there is some rust/pit

    43/44asw with subcontracted can marked scabbards are confirmed in the p, t, and u blocks of production. Almost all of the recorded examples have been in the t block. On some examples the can maker's code is completely extant with the Hörster markings simply stamped over the top. On other occasions the can marking was partially or nearly completely ground away prior to the application of the Hörster stampings.
