Thanks for your post Larry, I fully agree with in-hand inspection!! When I posted this piece, the question should have been "assuming this is authentic" what is the value? I have been collecting for quite some time to include American Civil War swords along with everything else. No one is more skeptical than I when it comes to authenticity. All of this to say that I certainly take no offense to others opinions, in fact I very much welcome and appreciate fellow collectors taking the time to share their expertise. I did however learn a long time back to "never say never" especially when it comes to personalized and custom items, good or bad, it "is what it is". Thanks Again to All and Very Best Regards, Ed.
