Has anyone got any idea about this dress bayonet it looks like a naval button has been attached to the grip, the button does move slightly so it has not been attached with glue.

No maker's mark on blade?
There are no marks anywhere on the knife.

Those screws are awfully large sized and off centered.

Could be a Pack & Sohn maker, they use screw bolts in an off centered position. But, as Larry stated, they do look rather large. If it were mine, I would take it apart and have a look, but only if you have the proper screw driver for the job.

I doubt that is a issue item. someone has stuck a button top on it. imo.
I don't have the right driver Jim but I might be able to borrow one as for the button I am not sure how it is attached but its not glued.
Jim are the bolts in the wrong way round ?

Now that you mention it, yes, they are in backwards. The smooth side should always be out, or the side that is showing, when in wear.by zephyr4

Agree they appear to be E Pack off centered screw bolts a trademark of theirs on KS98 I have seen them KS98 unmarked like this the emblem I have no clue. timothy
Frankenstein bayonet? I dot now.
Bayonet releasing system look odd, and do not coincide with other part of bayonet.
Although I've seen some other examples, with reverse grip nuts.
