Article about: Here`s a bad fake frog that I have,wrong rivets,strap buttons from wrong side,and it smells like new leather,not something like 60+ years old.

    My eyes have been well and truly opened. Some of those would have fooled me. Great thread, thanks for posting.

    Very interesting. Something I noticed was the depth and precision of the makers stamps. Most period pieces I've seen, the makers marks have become faint worn with wearing on a belt. So a very prominent maker's stamp (almost to attract attention) should be a red flag.
