I gues you have a German S84-98 bayonet.
asw is the code for the maker - E & F Horster. 41 is the year of manufacture.
2630 is the individual serial number of the bayonet.
The other markings are probably the inspection stamps - do they have a small eagle and the letters Waa ?.

Richie B has it right, with for my part a few observations and a question. If there is no letter with the number - for 1941 it’s an early example for that year being in the first 10,000 manufactured. With the full Waffenamt (inspection stamp) being a WaA883 (although sometimes only partial stamps are seen). With the question being - is there a scabbard that came with the bayonet? FP
Hello Frogprince,
yes, it does have a scabbard. It has the same markings as the bayonet. (41asw and 2630 a).
Does this still have a collector's value ? Ludo
It would seem to be a matching bayonet and sheath. There will indeed
be collector value, with a premium because they are matched -
condition is important as well - Photos would be nice.........

As I'm new on this forum, how can I upload some foto's ?
You will naturally need to have a digital camera or scanner attached to your computer.
When posting a comment you will see two buttons in the lower right side.
Hit the 'Go Advanced' mode, and scroll down to 'Additional Options',
then hit 'Pictures Upload'. A window will open, and you can then
select photos to upload from your files........

Excellent. Glad you found out how to upload the pics !
As long as the scabbard and bayonet have the same
serial number, this is a bonus. It seems to be in
average condition, and should be worth
somewhere between $100 - $200.

Steve.
