Thanks for looking, I picked up this K98 bayonet today very cheap at a local shop. I know the scabbard is marked but I wonder why no markings on the bayonet? Any info will help me out!

bayonet is a little bit suspect.....
no markings is not unusual (Export models), looks like police typ (no metal plate on the handle),also wood handles does not seem like the original and I was wondering if it is coated with nickel? (maybe that is reason why no markings on it)
Try to find more markings on the handle and wooden handles
Who knows what markings you can find when you take of the wooden handles.
The bayonet looks like export piece possible to Spain, finish was polished only, locking nut could be replaced as other rust finish as on pommel, the scabbard is of normal WaA accepted production, Berg and CO under code S/242 1937. b.r.Andy
