These bayonets have a certain beauty to them. I find when they are in a group, with many different color handles it really makes them each pop out.

K98 bayonets were produced in 1945, but the number is small
and so are difficult to find - A rough estimate of only
24,893 were made that year.........

Sorry to again bring back another old thread but in agreement with Andrej on this issue wholeheartedly. The number of confirmed 1945 dated S84/98 is VERY small. From the serial numbers recorded the total production appears to be less than 20,000 pieces. The only confirmed completed examples were produced by E & F Hörster (45sgx) and Paul Weyersberg (45crs). There are also a few relic condition blade blanks only by Maschinenhaus, Ferlac (bym - 5 on spine) confirmed pieces. These comments come from researching and collecting serial number data for 1944 & 45 dated S84/98 for over 15 years. My thoughts only - Lance O. Adams .....
