K98 with scabbard question

Article about: I purchased this bayonet and would like to know if it is a military or civilian/non-military org type. I ask because the scabbard is unmarked black painted steel like I have seen on dress ba

    Andrej, I think rivets are the standard late alloy or steel (perhaps in combination). At least they look of that vintage and construction. The brassy or brown color is a combination of oxidation, patina, and appearance in the photographs. My thoughts only ....

    You are probably right both offcourse, it could be patina or discoloration.Thanks.
