I thought I would start showing some of my favorite bayonets. The is a M98 dress bayonet and was most likely produced in the early 20's by Alexander Coppel. The cross guard is stamped RFV for Reichfinazverwaltung. The frog is also stamped RFV and is dated, I think 1935.

Very nice Zollschutz bayonet! Hard to say about the time frame, but I would say you're in the ballpark. It would be nice to have a time frame for every manufacturers mark, but no one can completely agree on what mark for which time frame.

This is the only RFV marked frog I have ever seen, of course you seldom ever see a customs bayonet.

I imagine so Kirby they are rare IMO I have yet to own one. Wheeler has a little bit on them in his book Seitengewher 1919 to 1945. timothy
