Could it be a post war refurb arsenal stamp??? Maybe it was used post war by a country, was refitted and stamped after inspection?

The bayonet certainly looks re-finished - so a post war marking would be most likely.

Reminds me of the "X" always seen on Russian Capture K98k rifles. Did the Ruskies also rearsenal German bayonets to go along w/ the K98ks?
