Is this something the Russians would do is to take the captured daggers and send them to be restamped and then reissued? ... or was this a field upgrade operation?
Hi Bichon.. your attachment did not open up ,,may I suggest to save it to your computer again under a different file name and repost it? You can do 1 of 2 things,, you can either click on "save image as" and follow that or click copy and paste it into your pictures folder,, that always seems to work best for me.

I am waiting for an answer to a PM I sent to Bichon,, so as I can help him post the photo. Maybe MIA! hopefully temporary
Here is the Pic,, I am posting for Didier aka Bichon ,, which is the marking in question. Any thoughts on this one?? Larry
Third Reich era German Naval bayonets certainly had "N" markings - representing Nordsee. There were also "O" for Ostsee (or Baltic).
They stopped the use of these markings in the first half of the war.
Examples can be seen on this page (about half way down)
k98 bayonets data and registry
Not convinced that the marking on the bayonet is German Naval.
BTW - The marking on the P08 magazine looks good to me. The "x" indicates the second of two magazines issued with each P 08.
Excellent Information Richie,,the link itself says alot. Definitely some worth while information for the bayonet collector. Bieng an SA collector,, there are similarities when searching codes and stampings. Does those Bayonets belong to Bichon?? as his name appears at the bottom of the link page.
Hello Gentlemen
thank you
thanks Larry to post the picture
I would like to say it's the same Bichon..... unfortunately, it's not me !!!
cordially
Didier
