Some of you may have read my post "honesty in collecting", where I tols the story of how I helped someone sell on some gear from a Gross Duetchsland Veteran, she offered me that I could take what I wanted as she knew nothing about it, I passed her onto a dealer friend where she was able to make AU$8000....

I got this today as a thankyou, its a parade bayonet that belonged to the GD Vet

Very happy to have it!

Thanks mate, it's a nice bayo, I got two other K98 bayos, one matching, and 4 relic ones, one even still goes in and out of the scabbard

A younger mate of mine Ex Infantry section leader also has PTSD after his Iraq deployment.

Don't know, the bloke was in the Gross Deutchsland regiment, so not sure on the brown frog......it looks black in hand but the flash bought out the brown

Bit of research and brown was for Luft.....but having the bayo in hand it looks as though there is a black lacquer over it

Too look at it in hand it definitely looks black, maybe the camera flash revealed the brown thru the black laquer
