Hello,
yes the frog is prewar until 1938/39. Typical czech bayonet frog for the Vz.95- Vz.24 series.
The bayonet is in a mint condition. You can find a lot of dot42 and 43 marked S24(t) in a mint condition, because they have never left the country. 42.000 S24(t) dot 42 and 43 lay in stock until 1972. Then the communist czech government saled them with the help of the firm "Fire Power International".
There may be some hardcopy adverting from the 1970's out there somewhere that I haven't seen. But the internet era advertising from IMA that directly mentions "Fire Power International" says: "Original Item: After the collapse of Czechoslovakia in 1938 to the Nazis the Czech Arms Industry was converted to produce weapons for German Troops. This included the Czech VZ 24 Mauser Rifle re-designated VZ24(t), in German Czechoslovakia starts with a "t". The German made VZ24t Bayonets were made without muzzle ring and bear Nazi Waffen amt marking with the Nazi Makers code for the BRNO Arms factory of "dot". Here we offer just a very few of these extremely rare WW2 made Nazi issue Bayonets in outstanding original condition found in Czechoslovakia in 1972 included among some 40,000 other Czech and German Bayonets sold at that time by the Czech Government company Omnipol to Fire-Power International in England. Extremely rare and a must for the advanced Collector, fewer than 10 pieces available."
With my reading of the above not really clear to me what exactly "40,000 other Czech and German Bayonets" means - because a long time past there were imports of the German S. 84/98 to the U.S that were reported to be from Czechoslovakia. Best Regards, Fred
