Leave it in this condition.

Rancid, I do appreciate your thoughts. Is it only the scabbard that you believe was cleaned based on the pictures?
According to your photos, its looks like it was cleaned.
Try to set additional photos without a flash.

The scabbard on mine is definitely not blued like the one in that picture. The one in that pic almost looks black, same for the trim around the handle. I feel like I've seen other bayonets with scabbards and handles in the same condition as mine, but perhaps they were cleaned as well. The blade on mine is very dark, like the one in your pic but not as dark. That's a nice bayonet by the way.
