Hi. Just won the auktion on this 2nd luft. I've got a really good feeling about this one, but i'm no expert. Please help me verify its authenticity.
I haven't seen many 2nd luft tiger's. Is it a rare maker ?
Best regards

Good original dagger.
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks Ade.
Thinking of buying a portapee/knot to cover the rusty part between the crossguard and the handle.
Are there any good advise on how to clean it up, without ruining it ?
The price was 237 EUR, seems fair ?

The price was fair.
Adding a knot would be good.
I would not advise doing anything to clean it.
Cheers, Ade.
Thanks.
Are there any difference between a heer and luft knot ?
Best regards
Yes, they are different lenghts. You need the Luftwaffe pattern knot which is 23 cm long.
Cheers, Ade.

Now we'll see if he's got one that match...
Bought the dagger from the grandson of the german soldier.
It belonged to feldwebel Heinz R...... He was a professional soldier before and during the war, in luftwaffe. He was a radiooperator in a bomber in Afrika. There he was shot down and badly injured. When he recovered, he spend the last of the war in some kind of a foodunit.
Nice to have a litttle story to the dagger ;-)
