This man was a friend of my family during the occupation of Denmark.
The photos and the letter I got from my mother, the two cloth badges I have purchased and added myself.
I would like to add a dagger/bayonet to the grouping, but since he is not wearing any on the photos, I turn to you guys.
    Thanks

If he wore any dagger it would have been a 1st or 2nd Model Luftwaffe dagger, and that would depend on what rank he was and what year he received it. The 1st model Luft dagger was issued before 1937. After that date, the 2nd Model took its place, and the 1st model was discontinued. The occupation of Denmark began in 1940 I believe, so he could have worn either dagger. Others can tell you more.

    Thanks Corey.
I think that when he came to Denmark in '40-'41 he was a gefreiter and later on he became obergefreiter. At the end of '44 he returned to Germany.

He would have worn a private purchase "parade" bayonet and not the dagger. Stag horn grip was an option and the frog was brown leather.
Daggers were only worn by senior NCO's and Officers.

    Cheers, Ade.

That´s correct, but, also black frogs were in use together with the Extra-Seitengewehr, (dress bayonet), in the Wehrmnacht-Luftwaffe, not only brown ones !

Short model was an option for NCO's.

I personally like the stag horn gripped one.

I have chosen to use the one with the plastic gribs because the one with the stag horn grips has got a repainted scabbard.
What do you think about the troddel ? Is it correct to the grouping ?
    Thanks
