    Default Dagger identification... help please?

    Hi all,

Our family has a collection of items from WWII, brought back by my husband's father. There are about several items in the collection ranging from daggers to rifles and pistols to banners and hats/helmets. Unfortunately, my husband's father has passed away and we have very little information about the items.

Would you be able to help identify and value the items? Ideally, we would like to sell them and to release them back into the collector's world.

    Here is the first dagger:

Thanks very much for your consideration and expertise!

This one is a first pattern Luftwaffe dagger, value perhaps around $550 in this condition.

This is a Luftwaffe 1st model chained dagger. I have no idea about the value. Someone else will chime in on that. Welcome and Good Luck

Hi Beth welcome to the forum,, this one I call "salt of the earth" as this one is totally uncleaned but yet very desirable for the type collector. Alcoso is a great maker in edge weapons,, which this one is a 1st model type Luftwaffe or "Airforce" as Ray and Kradspam have said. This one should fetch about $550,,,but these prices are an estimated worth. Desirability will increase the value! Regards Larry

    Hello all,

Kradspam, thanks for the welcome and the valuation! Any idea where I could put my daggers up for auction/sale?

Ray, thanks for the welcome and luck. I've a feeling I'm going to need it!

Larry, thanks for the welcome and information as well as the valuation. I also wanted to thank you for the question you asked in another thread about what people felt when they handled these daggers. I read it with interest and went through nodding as I read. I really don't know much about these items. I'm not a collector. But, I had felt some of those same things. I wonder.. how in the world.. these things.. came into my hands. A part of me wishes I could return them to their rightful owner. As a history teacher, I wish I had more time to research every piece!

I hope I find a way to get them to someone who will get some enjoyment from them.

    Warmly,

    Beth
