Rare to see this...which could be a salesmans example....and worth as much as a standard size DLV. Nice find!!

could have been made for a short arse.nice one.
I dont have a good feeling about it right away.
Normally salesman examples are marked, this one isnt, but then again, some arent.
What strikes me is that is has brown leather instead of the normal blue, why would a Factory give their salesman a different colored leather? there sure is enough in the factory of the right color.
I have seen havily used DLV's who have leather with a lot of wear and almost turn into a brown colored shade, but why would a salesman example have so much wear?
It doesnt feel right.
Then we all know these DLV are very early ones, normally made of nickel silver, except the "crackle Finish" Helbig ones, they are made from ALU.
If i look closely at the hilt it looks like a corrosion often seen on potmetal, traces of zinqpest?
Why would a early salesmans example be made of zinq?
What also strikes, this knife is doing its very best to look old.
If you look at the crossguard there is so much patina it almost looks artificial, and it also looks some of the acid dripped on the blade too!, look at pics 2 & 3.
And why isnt the swastika filled with enemal?
Doing so good a job and then no enemal?
I have never ever seen one, so it realy needs an in hand inspection to realy see if its artifically aged or the real deal!
For now you aint got my thumb up.
