He guys i'm planning on buying this 1st model dagger.
It's a late war one with alu fittings.
overall condition is great, although it seems like someone just polished all the patina away.
It has alu fittings but i don't know if platina builds up that beautifull on alu.
It looks fine to me, please tell me what you think of it.
Always nice to hear the opinion of you guys
The upperchain connection to the scabbard seems to be replaced.

Nice looking dagger but I wouldn't call it late war. The 2nd pattern Luftwaffe came out in 1937. I guess you could call it a late pre war dagger.

i mean late war: it has alu fittings instead of the silver plated fittings used on the pre war manufactored ones.

The dagger itself looks like a nice one. With government (Luftwaffe) property markings, that I personally happen to like and consider a plus.

But if a book is being used as a reference that says that aluminum is late - simply put the author is wrong. Late manufacture has a zinc base that is plated to disguise the zinc. Also, all manufacture of dress blades was terminated in early 1942, which by my reckoning is not late war. FP
