    Very good job. For a ground dug relic, it will never be 100%.
    I think you've gone about as far as you might want to go
    without risking damage by over-cleaning.........

    I have some 3m scotchbrite pads that range from fine to medium to coarse. I didnt use the coarse just the medium and fine. Also as a lubricant while i was scrubing it I used a thick general purpose tool oil. Then for the blade I used a 400 grit sandpaper with the oil and then a 600 grit sandpaper. I worked out really good from what you can see. I am very happy with it. Well worth the trade.

    Can i confirm that you used a wet and dry sheet and not actual sand paper, there is a big difference and also the cleaning value is completely different
