I would have to agree with Kris, an auction house that hasnt done any research into the goods they are selling !!!, however its roughly the price of a good fake but you might be lucky, but i would imagine the price will rise to the £150-250 if its a good one, as the grip wire is missing, and theres no indication regarding the condition of the blade, which for some reason worries me, if your bidding on this sight unseen you are taking a risk without further pictures which i would require them to provide and if they want a buyer they should do so as most auction houses do
Thanks for all your good advice guys. I take on board what people have said about auction houses knowing what they sell but i'm finding that as time progresses and there are less people who have had contact with the military working in a general auction house, not one of the specialist houses, then things are starting to slip through the net. This is a picture of the complete lot. It wasn't this picture on Sunday when i happened to read the description, oval plate with swastika and officers dagger + i.d card. I asked for a better picture , this arrived Monday, the auction was today, tuesday. For better or worse i brought the lot for £150 plus commission, i've just got to get them in my sweaty hands now. I'll post pictures of the marks, if any, etc when i get it.
Well mate i hope it has worked out for you, if its all ok youve got a really good deal, cant wait to see the close ups, plus a grip wire can be replaced
I think you should be OK. The other two items are fine. I look forwards to the pics.
Cheers, Ade.
hope it turns out well can't wait for more pictures

I do not like the grip, the wear seems to be "altered" normally the wear shouldn't be equally on all sides.
It looks a bit plastic instead of celluloid.
Hope im wrong, will cross my fingers for you.
Tis a copy/fake, picked up this morning returned 5 seconds later, thanks for your input gents
Glad you can get your money back! This reinforces, once again, the importance of decent pics.
Cheers, Ade.
