Question Luftwaffe First Pattern for Review

Hello all, I have been offered this first pattern Luftwaffe dagger and after spending a few hours comparing photos to ones on this site, I don't see any glaring issues with it. However, I am but a novice when it comes to daggers, so a second opinion would be greatly appreciated. Apologies for any issues with the photos as they are not mine, but the seller's. Thanks in advance for any advice or opinions. Cheers.

Hi Arti...the dagger has seen its better days as this one is heavily worn and in lesser condition but all original.

I like this type of grip wire wrap on this dagger type.
The Scabbard appears to be mismatched...but so much muck on both parts...its hard to say.
Wait for Peter or other opinions.

I'm not liking the grip wire, it looks too clean compared to the rest of the dagger and not bedded in, it's also not tucked into the top of the crossguard correctly and appears too thick for my liking, so maybe been replaced.

    Best Tomaz.

Thanks for the responses guys. For the price I'm getting the dagger at its condition is something I accept, I'm a college student so pursuing mint perfect items just isn't realistic, as well as I prefer the "been there" look. Concerning the grip wire issue that Tomaz brought up, are there any other opinions on why it looks the way it does? I definitely see the area of concern, with the wire looking a bit gibbled where it tucks into the crossguard.

As long as you have a passion and enjoy the history that each piece brings to the table, that's all that matters!

Save money and rather buy better example! Move away of this dagger, it is not correct. Grip wire and maybe whole grip is replaced. And scabbard fittings are made from iron? Are they magnetic or not? It is early dagger, all parts have to be made from nikel

I agree with Peter, this is a partdagger and in no way reflects the early Eickhorn 1st pattern build.
Grip is not eickhorn, look at the gripwire.
I suggest you compare the crossguard swastika's on this one with a nice eickhorn, posted here a while back
