So would we all agree that strictly speaking, although an original piece when you buy a black gripped dagger you are buying a messed with modern look rather than period?
Im sure ive seen period photo's of these black daggers somewhere though, if the paint came off during period it would be exceptable right?

Good call. Much to the same reason I steer clear of the Reichsbahn Black handle puppies. Too many flags and not enough proof for me to want to shell out such a larger sum of money for a black handled Luft.
