i found a bunch of sites that had the take down and there is the reguler take down and the combat take down mine is combat as it has RB # on it mine are on the spike ,as they came on blade also,and numbers matching is a funny thing as you dont find them matching everything that often as most dealers say?iam just going by a lot of old post and dealers selling these...so i learned a lot the wood is very solid and the name does not bother me at all!! as everything else it has going for it thats nothing thats a matter of preference..i had no choice but when i seen it i realy liked it!so if its a german that but it there or the vet either way is a pluss not a negative in my opinion.thanks for looking and please post your take down combat typ with matching numbers i would love to see how many are out there?thanks..?

well, i had to pay $50 to get this guy up PA that fixes knifes and sells them to get the top off but it was worth it as now i can /could clean it up a little as it was filthy on the inside!! there are numbers on the inside too,

too bad someone butchered the handles,,,maybe you can sand them down enough to erase the engraving yet retain most of the originality of it...

@Militarymania I wouldn't do that, the name gives the knife character. I think sanding it down would make the value go down even more.

i think i would try to restore it so it would have some attraction for a sale,,,
