    Well good luck! Finding things that come directly from the G.I./ family are always great. Adds history to the piece since you can tie it back to someone. Congrats and good luck!

    Nice dagger great price. I like the look of the scabbard and you should leave it as it is unless want to destroy the value. I came across a orange handled Kriegsmarine dagger with a hammered scabbard. I would love to add the dagger to my collection if it hadn't been polished all to hell. $1500 dagger + polish = $700-800 dagger. Just my opinion.

    All correct unique Alcoso parts. Typical double wire wrap, thin crossguard, pommel and that scabbard is the rounded Alcoso type. Transitional? Hmmm never heard it called that before. These were relivively late daggers being introduced I think in '36 or '37. They never came in early tombac like Armies. Scabbards were all steel based same as the rings. The bands were either zinc or aluminum.
