A nice letter opener. Sorry it's a copy. If I remember correctly these copy are from the 70's or 80's or so. A quick search on the forum will show you lots of original examples. You will quickly see the difference in quality and craftsmanship

The terrible deep cast etching is a dead give away, German period etching was delicate and precise.
I think it may be a little more modern. I was given a similar one 5 or 6 years ago that was brand new....out of China I believe.
