Hi guy's i bought this a few year's ago and when i looked at again at home i noticed it was etched under the crossguard, it say's Mutzelburg any suggestion's who or what it may be, all comment's welcome,

The problem is the lack of an initial or a rank. But it still adds a nice bit of history to the dagger.

Probably the last name from the officer who owned it. I found some info about Rolf Mützelburg he was the commander of U-203:

But like Ade said, without rank or initials...

Rolf Mützelburg died on 11 September 1942 in a freak accident.
Having the opportunity to bathe in the Atlantic southwest of the Azores, he plunged into the control tower and hit the deck with the head and shoulder when the boat suddenly rocked by the waves. The doctor of U-462 arrived the next day, but it was too late, and Rolf Mützelburg was buried at sea on 12 September 1942 in position 36 º 14'N - 31 ° 21'W.

No, that is not the guy. Nick merely did a search and that was the only surname match which came up

People have just then commented on that.

However, I do know someone who has a lot of research on Luftwaffe officers. I will see if he can help find the man. But the basic problem will be the same as I found with one of my KM daggers: the lack of a rank and initial will scupper any research unless he was the only person of that name to serve. The other problem is of course, senior NCO's were also entitled to wear the dagger which compounds the problem.
