Hello all, i picked up these rings in a larger deal so im not losing money if these are bad. I know what a canteen ring is, but i cant find these patterns anywhere. One of the silver ones i marked 830 which i understand is what Scandinavians used in the 30's? The backs are throwing me off on the silver ones...they dont look right. But maybe im wrong. Your help is greatly appreciated. 3 skull rings for review3 skull rings for review3 skull rings for review3 skull rings for review

Looking at the pics closely , all appear to be rubbed/aged fakes , lack of fine detail were there is No wear apparent . Signs of casting I can see also .

The metals all look rough, porous and uneven. Almost certainly cast.

Sorry for telling, but all fakes of period existing german patterns.

    1. ring:
Originals are 2 piece. Plain band behind skull. Sull seperate hollow and soldered on.

    2. ring:
    Cast copy, originals are struck.

    3 ring:
Again a cast copy of a common ring from the Frey Company, Pforzheim.
Originals are struck and have this markings: "835" (content), "F*" (Frey Company) and usually "Ln" (Laurin mark).

Hope you didn`t buy this rings for much money in this deal.

Thanks guys! I told the seller they were likely bad, so i didn't lose anything on the deal...but they came with a collection of daggers. Better to ask then spend hours of research on junk. Thanks again!

In the light of this, perhaps the daggers should be reviewed also...
