These are a mine field and would be best to wait for a seasoned researcher to give a thumbs up on it.
The ring appears to be very crisp in detail.

If this is bonafide..who documented it as such?

Not my area of expertise but that looks to be awfully thick compared to other worn examples that I have seen.

And isn't the skull supposed to be a separate piece soldered on? It might be just can't see from this photo.

Anyway...I will leave it to others. Good luck.

Yes, hence the reason for the ring seam to be right behind the skull.

I believe the Author of " SS Totenkopf H. Himmler Honor Ring 1933-45 " Don Boyle has a list of the known issued rings and a partial of rings found, if the inscription in this ring is found on another ring ( Fake ) it stands a poor chance. He also perform appraisals and authentications, JMO..

A strange situation, if one wants to distance them selves from a ring -- just bash it with a hammer or throw it in a river.

β€” This particular ring was bestowed upon a Franz Fiala in β€˜43 and has been authenticated by Don Boyle as genuine. I feel very fortunate to have been able to add it to my collection.

Congrats. Although I have never met the man, I hear that he is probably the best authority on these rings.
