Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings

Now this little chap is one of my favourites, I got this direct from the vets son and only after I bought it I asked if he had any history on it, he told me his father was in the glider pilot rgt he was a flt sergeant who later became a flt lietenant, he picked this up at hamelkeln part of operation varsity in march 45 , from an ss hauptsturmfuhrer who surrendered to him and swapped his ring for 20 cigs rgds Dave
Nice collection Dave.
