I want to show the interested ring collectors in this nice forum a very good writen and , as i know, the only actual publishing about the Westwall-rings.
It was writen in 2008 by a good friend of mine - Gerd Hagedorn.
It is in german, but maybe the one or other can read it a little and for sure all can see the pics.

Very useful information! I never belived there are so many different versions.

In this publication are only a part of the patterns. After years in ring collection i am sure there are much over 100 different patterns.
I know there where par example more than 5 manufacturers of this simple wire rings.
For the version of the WHW/KWHW i know in the Moment 4 different companys that produced it.
Looks at the rings with glasstones. Different patterns of stones, colours, bands and cartouches....
The publishing in the link is the first version. The second version was/is sold in a german militaria magazin.
In the moment Gerd is working on the next version and a little booklet about westwall rings.

the pic shows only a part of my westwall rings.
Of course i have a very similar to your pattern, but in brass.
Exact your pattern i have only the skullring without the inscription.

Yes, a priest - he spent a lot of years at the Vatican.
And more a writer than collector, but he still has some own Westwall-rings.
