    Thanks Glenn66!
Usually in this ring pattern it is a kind of paint.
Both, paint and enamel, is very sensitive. But if enamel get a hard hit it breaks.

Your ring looks like from an old storage - this finnish one is a worn example.
    Both are very nice!

This ring is from 1942. It was issued to Finnish Nazi volunteers who worked the security service for when Hitler visited on Mannerheim's 75th birthday. I have the same ring from my grandfather.

Highly interesting information for me. Lot of thanks.
    You still know more about?

    Yes, of course!
I allways thought These rings are similar to see as the private purchase "Nordfrontkreuz"

My ring is in a safety deposit box in Finland, and I live in Toronto. So I can't provide any photos. I do know there are quite a few different Reich/Finland pieces, official & unofficial issue. Rings, badges, & awards for civilians, Nordland, Wiking, 5th SS, '36 olympics, & the Karelia campaign. I've been searching for years to acquire some, but it's hard enough to find Finnish ww2 stuff in Europe, let alone North America.

ring with finland flagBecause i am only collector of rings i can speak only for rings.
Yes, this ring pattern of the thread is rather rare and very hard to find.
Much more common is an other finnish period pattern, the Petsamo-Rovaniemi ring.
