I would say it might be tombak which is an alloy of copper and zinc it could have had a nickel silver finish at some point maybe.

Personally I have trouble selling anything That I collect. I am kind of a collecting hoarder if you will.

A jeweler may be able to straighten it, possibly. I have straightened rings by using a tapered rod and tapping the ring down with a piece of wood, but of course that was with softer materials. But I think the ring looks cool like it is and if left alone you know it would not break!

I used to go bottledigging too! , i used to collect stoneware ginger beer bottles. Then i moved onto victorian B/W potlids (i hate prattware). Another good hobby mate nice one nothing worse than 3 foot of clay capping though!

My ring is brass with nickel? plating.
Die struck and made in typical period way.

These rings were intentionally produced to be inexpensive and their metal alloys were all over the place. You see good brass, bronze, coppery brass or bronze, tomback, steel, you name it. Slap a thin coat of silver or nickel-silver on it and it looks fine in any case. The majority of them were plated, or else the metal would turn the owners finger green...sometimes even making them sore...

Me too jimm, I hate prattware and love all other stoneware. I have a nice collection of local ginger beers I've made up over the last couple of years.
