I think it is a fake, the runes and the engraving are looking wrong.

I really don't know a lot of these rings but I do think this is a fake one.
The inscription laks the crisp details seen on originals. It's a poor made inscription.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.

Thanks all! Don't worry, I had mostly doubts to start with; skull looks stupid and the runes are poorly defined. If I'm honest I only asked because he listed it as an"German memento mori ring 1930s" brought back by his dad during WWII and I just hoped I'd found a poorly listed bargain
