You are correct... From what I know in the research and reading I have done - this ring is one piece and thus not correct among other things....

completely fake...unfortunately.
Hi, this ring is a known fake. The name Lorenz appears in many repro rings. They got the name right, as he was a ring recipient, but, I have seen at least 10+ rings with his name. What really tells fake is what everyone else including yourself have noticed, wrong construction. K
