Weight and history
I see no problems here, a genuine 1940's style ring that's seen some wear. Is there a good back story on where it was found??
Regards, Ned.

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

My opinion, which is of no practical use whatsoever, is that this is a cracking ring! A beauty!
No history,sorry.Ring not from Russia.
I've looked at these photos under magnification and I can't say that I'm seeing anything jumping out as alarming or wrong. The date is correct, as is the recipient's name. The style of the skull is proper and good for the era. The skull is soldered and the band is split behind the skull. The font of the engraving looks good as well. Without having it in hand, from what I'm seeing here, I would have to give this one a thumbs up. Look authentic to me. A nice find! Will you be selling this ring here? Any idea what you will be needing to ask for it?
