Now every little pock-mark this macro photography shows has me thinking 'gas porosity'? I think whatever such marks are on the face of this ring are from the soldering of the gold swastika to the silver ring face. Obviously it couldn't be die struck with the swastika.
It looks strange due polish. Ring is relic and after looks like new. So why you have mixed feelings

Have you tried by daylight? I think that gives best results... and how about inside the band? Any pittings there?by Glenn66

Glenn if I wanted to be totally sure then I'd post real good close up shots over on GDC: Hapur is a ring maker who uses both the die struck method and casting, and he can recognize a cast ring probably better than anyone...
