Awesome ring. I have really enjoyed reading about the Luftwaffe in North Africa. Right now I am reading A Higher Call by Adam Makos. It revolves around JG-27 and has been an excellent read. I would have loved to add something like this to my collection. Congratulations!

Don, I actually just got to a part in the book that refrences JG-53 and their famous spade Apparently during the Battle of Britain Goering discovered the wife of JG-53's commander was Jewish. Goering made the commander strip the spade and paint a red stripe. In retaliation JG-53's commander had his men paint over the swastikas and this action led to his dismissal. Eventually both the spades and the swastikas end up back on the planes. It would be awesome if anyone had the pics of a JG-53 109 with a red stripe!
