I'am back!! A mayor part from my promise is done.
Now I will spend some time again with this thread, showing some police photos.
A few of them were used in my book about aiguillettes, which ones is obvious.
Others were not used yet, as they are waiting for a moment to be picked up and
    included in a future book.

In volume 1 for "Headgear of Hitler's Germany" the Armed Forces:
Heer, Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe were covered. The volume was not of the size as the later volumes.
All had to go quick for a release. It was planned to make an extensive addendum, but if we ever get
this done, is a question, as years go by.

In volume 2 of the series, the Deutscher Luftsport-Verband was covered. Just briefly included was the uniform
for the Deutsche Luftfahrt, which later became the Luftwaffe.

To start with a photo and caption from volume 2: Albert Sonntag, wearing a rare combination dress.

    Further a random choice:

Daggers etc. in my books Harald Kricheldorf a Lufthansa pilot, wearing the Dt.Luftfahrt uniform

Daggers etc. in my books the wearing of the field-cap is extremely rare with DLV

Further shown some Luftwaffe, first and later pattern dagger (a random choice). All of these
were planned for the eventual later addendum.

I think Hitler-Jugend will be next to cover, some from my "Handbook", some for the
    headgear-series volume about this organization!

Wow, Wilhelm... You have an amazing hoard of photos and a wealth of information. Thanks for sharing. How is your book on railroad Eagles coming? And will we ever see the gorgets book in English? All I can really do is look at the pictures and try like hell to learn German! Great photos and thanks again.

    Daggers etc. in my books
Thanks for making it a sticky thread!!

Also in "Handbook of the Hitler-Jugend", a book about HJ triangles and shoulder-straps ony (with 784 pages)
of course photos with HJ daggers for enlisted ranks and leaders were shown. Starting with the cover as it became
with a "design" cover, given the impression of a brown-shirt.

Daggers etc. in my books Daggers etc. in my books

First I will cover some enlisted ranks stuff, but note that specific middle class ranked leaders had to wear the
enlisted HJ dagger version, instead of the special HJ-leaders dagger. Some of the photos were published in the "'Handbook",
others are waiting to be published for the particular volume for the headgear-series "Headgear of Hitlr's Germany".

Daggers etc. in my books Daggers etc. in my books

Early youth often did wear bayonets (credit: Steve Aley)
Further it is interesting to note that in the earliest stage the HJ-dagger was worn in front. Due to a lot of accidents
at a later date it was decided to wear the dagger at the back.

DJ-member, second a DJ leader (credit: Jeff Hammond)

Daggers etc. in my books Daggers etc. in my books Daggers etc. in my books

DJ does not always mean Deutsches Jungvolk, but can be as Deutsche Jugend (DJ) also.
First a lad from the DJ from Croatie (Save Donau, Bann 2) (credit: P.Coleman), second a lad from Belgium,
wearing a dagger. The enlargment does not tell us if this is indeed a HJ dagger, looks different for sure
(so-called Jungvolk-daggers are proved to be bogus and are in-depth discussed at the HJ-forum).

To be continued later with the HJ leaders dagger
(see also post 24 for HJ leaders with white gear during the 1938 visit to Japan).

The wearing of the Hitler-Jugend Führerdolch:

To start with: Obergebietsführer von Tschammer und Osten (middle), the "Beauftragter für die Leibesübungen
    der Deutschen Jugend
" with (at left) Gebietsführer Laganke and (at right) Dr.Schlünder, a department
leader at Frankfurt in 1938 during youth games (Deutsche Jugendmeisterschaften).

Now I have to dig in old boxes Daggers etc. in my books

for material from my book "Aiguillettes of the Third Reich". I'll be back, one
    of these days!!

Daggers etc. in my books Daggers etc. in my books

This is what I mentioned in an earlier post:
I do not mark photographs, as this does not work at all (various forum members are
quite well able to remove the marks perfectly), but if one ever feels the need to use it,
then please ask me for allowance and send me a PM. DO NOT simply "steal".
With various other threads I have observed photographs from collectors, which are
used by others, members from this and of course other forums. I am practically sure
they did not ask allowance. They just "take" and adorn with borrowed plumes.
